Happy Turkey Day!

Can't believe Thanksgiving is tomorrow!! Anyway-the other day the kids and I had fun making turkeys. These are super easy and fun to make. We found some pinecones in the yard and glued a body on the front and feathers on the back. Logan especially loved putting glitter glue all over the feathers.

Made one for Cache too-but he just wanted to pull all the feathers off.
Anyway-with it being Thanksgiving I wanted to jot down some of the things that I am thankful for. These are mostly for me-but if you want to read- feel free.
1-I am thankful to be a mom..IT is one of the hardest yet most rewarding things. There are some days that I just want to quit and give up. I get sick of doing the same mundane things every day. Laundry, changing diapers, feeding kids, bathing kids, calming kids down, cleaning messes. ect ect.-but in the end the love that I feel for my children and know that they feel for me is so worth it and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
2-Thankful for good health..Truly I am. I am rarely sick and so thankful that my body allows me to have the energy to do the every day things that I need to do.
3-Food-I LOVE FOOD-and lots of it...End of story
4-Music-I love listening to tunes. I am not big on knowing bands and names of songs-but I love pop and country- and secretly I like to turn the tunes up and dance with Logan.
5-Running-I have been running for 14 years now and I love it. It is "my time" and makes me feel good and I hope to continue doing it for many many years.
6-Examples-holy cow I have had many good examples in my life. Parents, teachers, leaders, friends all who have touched my life in some way and made me want to better myself.
7-Home-I love my home (yes in spite of being a flat top) It is comfy and cozy to me and I love that we have a place to call our own and take pride in.
8-Husband-I love him and am so greatful for all that he does to show his love for me and help me out. I love that he is such a good dad to our kids and loves them to pieces-and helps out with whatever I need.
9-Gospel-Truly I don't know where I would be without it. I definitely go through ups and downs of spirituality-but the gospel is my rock and keeps my focus on the "big picture" and what is most important in life.
10-Date nights-Too few and far between-but I love taking the time to get out and do something fun with Perry. (even if its dinner or just getting icecream)
11-Nature-I love seeing a beautiful view, waterfall, ocean, or being in the mountains. There is something about seeing the beautiful sights of our earth that moves me.
12-Time-All we have is time and I love spending "quality time" with my family and trying to create memories together.
13-Knowledge-yes I know I am a little ditzy sometimes-but I am greatful to have a healthy mind and I am greatful to be able to keep learning new things every day.
14-Freedom-I am greatful to be an American and enjoy the freedoms that I do-I am greatful for the constitution and our rights-and nobody better ever try to change it!
15-Travel-I love to travel-whether it be across the country or right next door-whatever-just take me there.

HALLOWEEN!!

Here are some pics of our Halloween shennanigans. We went to the tri-ward trunk or treat- it was a little crazy with millions of people-(ok-maybe not a million-but a lot) Logan was loving trunk or treating. She "got it" this year and knew just what to do. It was fun to watch her walk up and say "trick or treat" in her quiet little voice. When we were leaving she kept saying "Can we get more candy?" Weird to think next year Cache will be running around with her-going crazy for candy too..

My crazy bee. She was a funny little bee and would pretend to sting everyone with her arm-not her bum

I think he was a cute little tiger if I do say so myself.

TAKE YOUR PURSE!!

I was completely looking forward to being with my hubby and hanging out with my SIL Brittani and Grant in Albuquerque this weekend. The boys had meetings for work and Brittani and I were going to do all kinds of Christmas shopping-kid free (except for Cache and Isaac). Perry and I were planning to go to the temple. I was so excited for a little break. The weekend didn't turn out quite as planned. I was all packed and ready to go on Thursday around 3-but Perry didn't come home until almost six. Off to a late start-oh well. We decided to drive straight to Abq to eat. Finally arrived in Abq around 9 and decided to go to the Olive Garden. I grabbed both my purse and diaper bag to take inside-but hesitantly put the purse back bc I had everything I needed in my diaper bag. Why take two bags?? In spite of feeling like I should take my purse in I put it back-big mistake. After enjoying a good meal-we walked out to our cars to find the passenger side of our window smashed and the driver side of their window smashed. "Oh no-not my purse" I thought. Sure enough-my purse was gone.. My brand new purse that I bought a month ago! My brain started going through everything I had inside. My wallet with all my credit/debit cards, driver's licence, newly renewed temple recommend-(so much for going to the temple), and worst of all my camera!! Seriously!! I always put my camera in my diaper bag-why not this time!! Feeling very stressed and ticked off Perry called the police. Of course they came half hour or so later and did a report. After sweeping the glass out of the cars we drove back to the motel and stayed up until 1:30 in the morning closing accounts. Of course they were already charging up my accounts-couple hundred getting gas at gas stations-red box charges. etc. I was so royally ticked that it took me a while to fall asleep. No worries-Cache kept me up crying all night anyway. The whole night I kept dreaming of my purse being stolen-lovely. The next morning I woke up feeling a little better. I decided that there was nothing I could do-so I might as well change my attitude. We spent the next day waiting for our cars to be fixed. First they said one would be done by noon-but they weren't done until 4 or so. So much for shopping. At least I had good company with Brittani being there. Our motel was in the middle of no where-but at least we were able to walk to a cute cafe for lunch and go to a little home decor store. We spent the rest of the time walking and chatting on the grass until the boys came back with a car that finally got fixed. We were able to do a little bit of shopping and then went to eat at a steak house-which was good. The next day we went to Kohl's and an outdoor shopping mall-then we buzzed back home for the trunk or treat. The moral of this story is to always listen to your instincts and the spirit's promptings. And Take your purse!!!-or at the very least hide it...Lesson learned for me.
